Is the whole route dry and open?

No opening status is verified here. This is a model estimate; local puddles, damage and closures may differ. 4385 calculated segments across 39 weather cells. Follow land-manager notices.

When will this route dry?

A current surface score does not establish a drying time. Check the rainfall observation time, refresh stale inputs and review local reports before leaving.

Route and access notes

A long-distance walking route through mid-Wales between Knighton and Welshpool via Machynlleth. Moorland, farmland and forest sections make this a multi-day hiking route rather than a single local loop.

Planning this route

The government describes a 217 km National Trail. The pinned mapped line measures 219.3 km and joins Knighton and Welshpool, reaching the Machynlleth area. The source direction is not a recommended itinerary. Plan supplies, stages and transport separately; a dry score does not assess exposure or navigation in poor visibility.

Access and source limitations

Check National Trail and local notices for diversions and respect farm access arrangements. The source lacks surface tags on about 167.2 km, includes road sections, and flags roughly 42 m with restricted or conditional access tags. These limitations are not a claim that the complete route is closed, nor permission to ignore signs.
