Loamcast helps identify route sections worth checking before a ride, run, hike, event, or trip. It does not guarantee that a route is passable, safe, dry, legal to access, or suitable for your bike, equipment, skill level, or activity.
What Loamcast Does Not Know
Loamcast does not currently use live satellite imagery. It does not use official road closures, trail closures, construction notices, or access restrictions unless explicitly stated. It may not know about fresh tractor tracks, forestry work, fallen trees, recent maintenance, temporary closures, private access changes, damaged surfaces, or newly changed trail conditions.
Weather And Local Conditions
Loamcast can miss local flooding, small storms, short heavy showers, snow patches, freeze-thaw effects, or other microclimate conditions that are not captured by available weather or grid data. Weather, terrain, surface, and land-cover data can be stale, incomplete, spatially coarse, or wrong for specific local trails and road sections.
Coverage And Data Quality
Country and regional coverage varies. Beta countries may have weaker, less complete, or less uniform source data. Some areas have better surface, terrain, and weather coverage than others. Results may be less reliable where source data is missing, outdated, or ambiguous.
How To Interpret Scores
Route scores and condition classes are model-based estimates. They should help you decide what to check, compare, or avoid, but they should not replace local knowledge, official information, event organizer instructions, or your own judgement.
For Events And Shared Routes
If Loamcast is used for an event, public route, or shared route report, it should be presented as an additional planning signal only. Participants should still check official updates, weather forecasts, organizer instructions, route changes, and local conditions before starting.
